Writing an Argumentative Essay
Writing an Argumentative EssayAn argumentative essay is an essay that contains a thesis statement which supports its overall theme. A thesis statement is the central point of the argument and supports the rest of the essay. It provides the reader with a reason to engage the subject matter being discussed and hence lends credibility to the argument. The second most important aspect in writing an argumentative essay is the specific subtopic, that you choose to discuss in your topic. The choices you make for your subtopic will decide the tone of the entire essay. One can either write an essay on history or technology. You have to analyze the basic theme of your subtopic in order to make an argumentative essay.Subtopic also has a bearing on the tone of your essay, for example, if you are writing about WW2 then you must present an article that is a logical and coherent sequence of events. Choosing the subtopic carefully will give a different feel and look to your argumentative essay. After all, the purpose of writing this kind of essay is to communicate information to the reader so it is important to do so in a clear and lucid manner.Writing an argumentative essay is more than just writing your text. In fact, it requires an ability to read the topic very well, compare the facts to your views, and compose a proper sentence structure to support the thesis. An argumentative essay consists of four sections, which include Themes, Main Point, Background Information, and Conclusion. When you are creating your argumentative essay topics, be sure to include relevant information that the readers can easily grasp. To write an argumentative essay successfully, your theme should tie together the different aspects of the essay in a coherent fashion.Just as the strategy of the WW2 is the same as a strategy of today, be sure to analyze and understand the present world conditions of WW2 before you begin writing your argumentative essay. You should be able to write about what is happen ing in today's world without sounding like a missionary trying to convert the world to their views. If you can learn the history of the event, you can also study the current events and social trends of the current period. This will help you come up with a good thesis statement.Use only facts, but do not write about only specific details. The argumentative essay topics should be able to give a better understanding of the entire situation. It should be able to convey to the reader that the situation that you are writing about is the same as the one that is happening today.Remember, all wars are still wars; therefore, never make your argumentative essay about WW2. Use a brief comparison to support your thesis. For example, an argumentative essay can also be made about what happened in WWI and WWII. Always remember that the thesis statement and theme should be the basis of your argumentative essay.
